Introductions
  • What did you learn about gardening this season?

 

Schedule
  • Sat., Nov. 10: Closing Workday, 11 am-3 pm at Garden

   

Operations Committee
  • Workday priorities: Weed, rake and uprooting dead vines
  • Look at fig tree: is it time to winterize it?
  • Compost Toilet: Clean rooftop solar panels & try to fix fan
  • Benches: Sand and Stain, look at wooden chair as well
  • Produce donation: Gather produce from Margaret’s plot & donate
  • Clean, sharpen and oil gardening implements, store for winter
  • Clean out back shed, tin shed, and compost toilet
  • Pull out more butterfly bushes and plant shade garden plants
  • Prune bushes and trees for wintering.

 

Membership Committee
  • Check your status: Shana and Tara sent a link, track your requirements.
  • You need 3 workdays, 3 meetings, and 4 open hour shifts per season
  • No partying in the garden after 9 pm! Please be quiet and considerate, inform other members via email, and keep the garden gate open.

Treasurer
  • Our balance after Harvest Fest is now $5,000.
  • Pay your dues; it’s a membership requirement!
  • Submit your expenses via receipt with Robert Moskal before season’s end.

Events Committee
  • We’re having a little BBQ at today’s workday!
  • Let’s see if we can sell the rest of the succulents and some books today.
  • Harvest Fest raised $500. Big thanks to all who helped make it a success!
  • Do we want to welcome the Clinton Hill Carolers on Fri, Dec 20th, for bonfires, hot cider and weenie/marshmallow roast?

Other Business
  • Steering Committee elections will happen via Doodle at the end of the season, so let’s take nominations today. We want an incoming officer for every position (except Treasurer): Co-president, Ops apprentice, Membership apprentice, Events Co-chair, BQLT Alternate Rep. Who’s interested?
  • BQLT Updates:
    • The 10th Annual Celebration of Gardens will be held on November 3rd from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Brooklyn Job Corps, 585 DeKalb Ave. Join them for a day of workshops, festivities, music and giveaways. Email Kim for more info and how to register: kimberlylightbody@gmail.com
