Schedule
  • Sat., Sept. 15: Garden Workday, 11 am-3 pm at Garden
  • Saturday, Oct. 6th: Harvest Fest 11 am-3 pm, at Garden
  • Sat., Oct. 20: Garden Meeting & Workday, 11 am-3 pm at Garden
  • Sat. Oct. 27: GreenThumb Winter Supply Distribution, 10am
  • Sat., Nov. 10: Closing Workday, 11 am-3 pm at Garden

   

Operations Committee
  • Workday priorities: weeding; clearing paths around plots + main paths
  • Compost Toilet: Sand and stain (weather permitting)/check in on fan
  • Benches: Sand and Stain
  • Harvest Fest crafts (painting pots, smudging sticks), paint signs
  • Produce donation: gather produce from Margaret’s plot & donate to City Harvest/Brooklyn Teen Challenge

Membership Committee
  • Check your status: Shana and Tara sent a link, track your requirements.
  • You need 3 workdays, 3 meetings, and 4 open hour shifts per season
  • No partying in the garden after 9 pm! Please be quiet and considerate, inform other members via email, and keep the garden gate open.

Treasurer
  • Our balance going into Harvest Fest is $4,600.
  • Pay your dues! No one’s paid since last meeting; it’s part of membership.
  • Submit your expenses via receipt with Robert Moskal before season’s end

Events Committee
  • We’ll be having a BBQ at Saturday’s workday! Feel free to bring something.
  • Saturday, Oct. 6th is the Harvest Fest! Volunteer & receive a workday credit.

Other Business
  • Please pick up litter in the garden & outside the gates when you see it.
  • Steering Committee elections will happen via Doodle at the end of the season, so let’s take nominations at the October meeting. We want an incoming officer for every position (except Treasurer): Co-president, Ops apprentice, Membership apprentice, Events Co-chair, BQLT Alternate Rep.
  • BQLT Updates:
    • BQLT’s Annual Bike & Walking Tour is on Saturday, Sept. 15! The tour kicks off at 2pm, and will be followed by a 5pm after party at the People’s Garden in Bushwick. There’ll be food, drinks, music, and lots of fellow gardeners! Email Kim for more info and how to register: kimberlylightbody@gmail.com
